Novak: Gas production falls in June on low customer activity
MOSCOW, Jul 17 (PRIME) – Russia’s gas production in June decreased again as economic activity of the consuming countries remained low, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said late on Thursday.
"June gas production maintained the decreasing trend at 47.7 billion cubic meters (bcm) (minus 12.1% compared with June 2019), which is explained by persistently low economic activity on the main consuming markets, fullness of the European storages after the winter season, a high supply base in the same period of 2019," Novak said.
He said that as the global quarantine restrictions were eased, demand started to recover in June.
